Don’t forget to come to our Christmas Festival this evening in the Community Centre in Brannon Way. There will be carol singing with the Salvation Army, charity stalls for those last minute gits, a superb raffle and a “name the dog” cuddly toy to win. There are free refreshments including hot mulled wine and mince pies.
If the weather is not too bad there will also be the highlight of the festival – the Roving Nativity Play – back by popular request - where you can follow Mary, Joseph and Capuccino the donkey down the high street and see baby Jesus in the stable. This is a timely reminder of what Christmas is really about.
All are welcome. Proceeds from the raffle will go towards next year’s Christmas Festival.
Press and public are welcome to attend. If you would like to join the Village Partnership please contact Val Cooper on 884555. The Village Partnership is made up from people from all walks of life who want to make a difference to where they live.
The Community Bus 34 has been running for a year now and is proving to be a lifeline to those who would otherwise not be able to get out. To celebrate its first birthday, the bus will be at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway this weekend, 8th September, where you can meet some of the volunteer drivers who will be able to provide information to both users and potential volunteers. It is the Heritage Open Weekend & Model Railway Exhibition at the Steam Railway this weekend where there will be free admission and car parking.
Please come along and meet the crew – a warm welcome awaits.
